| Announced: 12/15/2009 | New Buffalo, MI The Pokagon Fund is currently soliciting applications for a member of their Board of Directors.
The Pokagon Fund is a private foundation supported by 1% of the electronic gaming revenue from the Four Winds Casino. The mission of the fund is to enhance the lives of the people in the New Buffalo region. Over $5.3 million in project funding has been awarded since The Pokagon Fund began soliciting proposals in November 2007.
The Pokagon Fund Board of Directors is made up of seven members: two members from the Pokagon Band, one member appointed by the City of New Buffalo, and one member appointed by the Township of New Buffalo. These four members select the remaining three positions on the board.
The Board of Directors meets monthly to provide direction to the foundation and to review all grant proposals that have been submitted.
Interested candidates must live in The Pokagon Fund service area, the townships of New Buffalo, Chikaming or Three Oaks, and the cities and villages within those townships. If interested, please submit the following: A resumé; and a brief biography to include the length of time you have been living in The Pokagon Fund service area, your job history, and the qualifications that you feel will make you a valuable member of The Pokagon Fund board of directors. Please also include a paragraph describing why you want to be selected as a director.
